Protein Love Bites
The Fixings:
1 cup rolled oats
½ cup oat flour
1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I use Vega Performance Sport)
1 tsp cinnamon
3 T hemp hearts
1/2 cup smooth organic peanut butter (or any nut butter)
3 T date syrup (you can sub with honey or maple syrup)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup chocolate chips, or any preferred add-in
¼ cup unsweetened almond millk

How To:
Whisk all of the dry ingredients, then slowly add in the wet indgreients.
Mix well and feel free to use your hands.
Form into 1 inch balls and shape into hearts.
Place in a container and let them chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before enjoying.

Why It’s Awesome:
These little nibbles are AWESOME after sweat sesh because your body is craving glucose and glycogen. Muscle cells need protein and carbs after a hard workout in order to recover and get you back at it. One of these treats would be a great complement to a hard workout. Let me give you a rundown of the nutritional facts:
200 calories
11 grams of fat
20 grams of carbohydrates
2.5 grams of fiber
10 grams of sugar
8 grams of protein
