Teenager Approved Turkey Burgers
1 lb. organic ground turkey
1/2 cup red onion, finely chopped
2 T egg whites, lightly beaten
1/3 cup oat flour
¼ cup of stone ground mustard
1 shallot, minced
3/4 teaspoon sea salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon of cumin
2 T fresh parsley
Combine all of the ingredients (except the turkey) in a large bowl. I use my hands to make sure it’s all mixed evenly and everything is coated with the beaten egg whites. Add the turkey and continue to mix. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes and grill for an additional 10 minutes (5 minutes per side). For an added punch of protein, I grill portabella mushroom caps and use them in place of hamburger buns.
